Renee Lizarraga

I graduated from California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor's degree in English. I am also a practicing attorney and earned a Juris Doctor degree from USC Gould School of Law.

Before attending law school, I worked as an ESL teacher for adult students in Los Angeles for three years. In this position, I taught beginning, intermediate and advanced English to more than 100 students from many different countries around the globe.

As an attorney, a large part of my job is educating my clients and juries about the law and the legal system. While I enjoy being an attorney, I never lost my passion for teaching English as a second language.

Joseph Doherty

I graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor's degree in English and a Bachelor's degree in History. I am also a practicing attorney and I have a Juris Doctor degree from USC Gould School of Law.

Before attending law school, I was torn between whether I should pursue a career in law or education. To aid in my decision, I worked as a toddler teacher, an ESL instructor, and a tutor. I decided to attend law school, but my passion for education remained.

In law school, I was a teaching assistant in the legal writing and advocacy program. As an attorney, I spend a lot of time educating my clients about the law. This is probably my favorite part of being an attorney.
